Throughout the country there is an urgent need for
hospices for children. The Shooting Star Trust is planning to raise a
total of £6.5 million to build, equip and run a Children's Hospice
to serve families with terminally ill children in the western half of
London and north Surrey.
This The Magazine learned from fundraiser Rushna Master
at Cobham Village Day and, subsequently over a cup of coffee, the fact
that well over £3.5 million is already in the kitty.
The list of Patrons and Trustees of this very deserving
Charity is impressive, to say the least. President is His Grace the Duke
of Northumberland, and among the Patrons are Sir Trevor McDonald, Sir
Cliff Richard, Lee Evans, Richard E. Grant, Hayley Mills, and Spelthorne
MP David Wilshire. Chairman of the Trustees is Edward Bentall FCA, DL,
while the Founder and Chief Executive is Kathryn Turner.
For all who would like to know more about the Trust
and its work, please contact Rushna Master on 01932 248751, or visit the
