Now in it's 43rd year, the Oxshott Christmas Fair ranks as the area's front runner of community based organisations. Over 300 participants are involved using their time, skills and ideas to ensure the continuing success of this popular event.


This year, the Fair will be officially opened by the Mayor of Elmbridge, Cllr. Mick Burgess, at 2.00 p.m. on Friday, November 21st at the Oxshott Village Centre.


15 stalls will be spread over the dual venues of St. Andrews Church hall and the Village Centre. The Church Hall will have Kitchen Corner, Games & Puzzles, Gifts & Little Treasures, Tombola, Crafts & Linens, Children's Books, Cards and Original Paintings (Oxshott Arts & Crafts Society). Mulled wine and home-made Scottish Shortbread will be available to keep you going.

The village centre will have 11 stalls - Flower and Christmas arrangements, cakes & preserves, jewellery, children's jewellery, china & glass, toys, sweets, accessories and baeuty bar. Also in the village centre younger visitors can call on Father Christmas and his faries in the grotto. He will be arriving on Friday, 21st November at 3:00pm and leaving at 5:30pm. He will be back again Saturday 22nd from 10:30am to 3:00pm. He has arranged lots of games to play and prizes to win. The children's raffle will take place at 3:00pm on Saturday 22nd. On display will be all the prizes in the grand draw tempting visitors to buy raffle tickets. The top four prizes are;-

• Cafe-style patio furniture (donated by Indian Ocean of Woodlands Park)

• £200.00 cash prize (anon.)

• Champagne (donated by Boyce Thornton)

• Cases of wine (donated by Probus)

Our thanks to them and all our generous sponsors and supporters whose involvement is vital to the Fair's success.


Hot lunches, including vegetarian will be served on Saturday, 22nd
November from 11.45 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and Teas with home-made cakes will be served on Friday and Saturday. Admission to the Fair is 50p (adults) and 20p (children). Babies and toddlers are free.


If you havn't completed your shopping list by Saturday closing which will he at 4.0 p.m. don't despair - selected goods left over from the Fair will be on sale at bargain prices the following day, Sunday November 23rd in the Village Centre from 2.0 to 4.0 p.m.


And that's not all! There will be a 7-day second hand Book Sale in aid of the Fair at 47, Leigh Hill Road, Cobham on:


Friday, November 21st - 3.30 pm to 6.00 pm.

Saturday, November 22nd, 23rd, 25th, 28th & 30th 10:00am - 4:00pm


Admission is 50p or FREE to visitors who have an entry ticket to the Oxshott Christmas Fair. A selection of children's books will be available in St. Andrew's Church vestibule during the Fair as will some charities Christmas Cards.

Looking for your generous support will be the 2003 beneficiaries who are:
All Saints Family project, Bedelsford School, Epsom Riding for the disabled, The Beacon Centre, The Leatherhead Swans Club and the P.T.A Royal Kent School.
