The first documentary evidence of Oxshott Village Cricket Club was in an article in the July 1896 edition of the parish magazine of St. Mary's, Stoke d'Abernon. The pictures below are from the early 1900s and include Maurice Wadey whose son Cyril Wadey has been closely associated with the club since the late 1920s and has been president of OVCC since 1975.

Cricket was played in the village before 1896, with the first recorded game played in 1893.
In its early days, the club was closely connected to the grand estates of Bevendean and Danes Hill. Cricket continued to be played on the picturesque Bevendean pitch until 1914.

The Oxshott Village Sports Club came into being in 1920 when the original ornate cricket pavillion was relocated on the new sports ground in Steels Lane.
The present club-house was opened in 1969 by Sir Charles Trinder, then Lord Mayor of London, the son of one of the founders of OVSC.
1977 was a milestone in OVCC's history, with league cricket sweeping into Steels Lane.

OVCC celebrated its centenary in 1996 and this painting was commissioned by OVCC's Centenary Committee from Oxshott's longest serving player Tom Weeden.
