The Cricketers, Downside

Traditional 16th Century Country Pub set in rural Surrey

Dating back to approximately 1538, The Cricketers is set off the main road and fronts a tranquil village green in rural Surrey. The interior of the pub is renowned for its low oak beams and uneven floors that catch many a new visitor unawares! In Winter a real log fire burns permanently in the inglenook fireplace giving a cosy warm atmostphere that people find hard to leave. In the summer the interior of the pub is cool and dark whilst the large garden offers sun-worshippers a riot of colours and textures in the well tended and watered hanging baskets and floral borders.

The Cricketers serves a large selection of well kept, conditioned traditional ales alongside a good choice of continental lagers and wines and spirits from around the World. We are renowned for our excellent and diverse menu changed by our chefs on a daily basis and served 7 days a week. Food can either be enjoyed in the bar, al fresco in the garden or in the more formal setting of our traditional restaurant.

Visitors to The Cricketers are assured of a warm and courteous welcome in any weather, however we do get busy at weekends and especially in the summer months so please arrive early to ensure a table. We look forward to welcoming you soon.

And it makes a fine refreshment stop on the Cobham Walk
